Whether Lombok is safe to visit is probably one of the most asked questions at the moment for people wanting to visit the Paradise of Lombok. We see it popping up on travel forums and Facebook pages every day. And the answer is a simple YES! When we do some research, we are very shocked to see that so many countries have not even bothered to update their information and travel advice regarding Lombok at all… People are still being told that the island is not safe to travel to and not ready to welcome tourists yet. We also hear from a lot of tourists that they are told by people in other areas such as Bali, that it’s dangerous to come to Lombok and that it’s better to stay away. This information is simply INCORRECT. The South of Lombok, where SAME SAME is, was never even hit by the quakes at all to begin with. We have had no damages or injuries here. The whole area is stunning as ever and very ready to welcome you! The only thing South Lombok suffers from is a lack of visitors to keep the economy going. Senggigi area and the Nortern Gili’s were hit by the earthquakes and have significant damage. But does that mean that by now they are still not ready to welcome you? NO. ( they are eager to welcome you ! ) People are working hard to rebuild what was damaged and so many places are open for you to enjoy. Nature is beautiful as ever and there are so many things to do, just like before the quakes. With the one big difference that most of you are scared to come, even though you know Lombok will be an unforgettable part of your travels! Will I see damage everywhere? Will there be enough for me to do? Will I still enjoy my time? Will there still be earthquakes? Will people not find it uncomfortable that I visit now? Well, to ease your mind… We can tell you this: You will definitely not regret adding Lombok to your itinerary. It’s safe, breathtaking and people here are dying for ALL OF YOU to come back so they can show you their beautiful home.
Take a look at what ( South ) Lombok has to offer you !
