Tanjung An Beach
Tanjung Aan beach is a gorgeous stretched out white sandy beach with clear blue water! This beach provides an ample opportunity to get together and have fun with your friends or beloved family. The bay stretches along a mile and there is a wave breaking on the rock (Batu Kotak). This paradise stirs a desire to unlock the hidden secrets of the beach, like having a fishing boat take you out to see Umbrella Rock (Batu Payung). Tanjung Aan comprises of two white sand bays, Aan to the west and Pedau to the east, separated by a rocky outcrop. The waters offer safe swimming and snorkeling. There can be a strong current on the eastern bay at times. There are some drink and snack stalls at the center of the beach and at the western end a few restaurants with tables and sunbeds on the sand. If you’re looking for a great walk and an amazing sunset view, you will find Sunset Point (Bukit Meresek) at the far West end of the bay. Don’t forget your camera and your beer! You can’t surf this beach all the time. Aan in South Lombok is a fairly exposed reef break that has unreliable waves with no particular seasonal pattern. The best wind direction is from the north. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the ideal swell angle is from the south southwest. A right hand reef break. Unlikely to be too crowded, even when the surf is up. Watch out for rocks.
